Service Terms & Conditions
This page sets out the terms between Pettinger Family Movers — a licensed household-goods carrier working out of Spokane, Washington — and you, and they apply both to this website and to every move our crews run. Please go through them once before you request a quote or hand us the job, because either of those steps counts as accepting everything written below.
What the agreement covers
This document reaches two things at once: the way you use the site, and the moving, packing, and storage work we carry out. That work spans Spokane and the rest of Spokane County, climbs into the Kendall Yards and downtown loft buildings, runs up the gravel acreage lanes on Green Bluff and Colbert, and stretches past the region on long-distance hauls.
We hold licensing at both levels — WUTC HG-64217 inside Washington, and USDOT/MC operating authority across state lines — and every job runs on company-owned trucks staffed by W-2 crews. We don’t broker work or pass it off to another carrier; that’s simply not the model.
How the figure comes together
Every detail you give us feeds the written number: the two Spokane addresses, how many staircases sit at each end, the curb access, the driveway pitch, anything heavy or oversized, and the date. The figure mirrors the move you described — no more, no less.
Facts move the math, so a real surprise on move day changes it. If the basement stairs never came up, the destination switched, or the load is half again as heavy as you told us, Greg stops the crew, talks the new figure through with you face to face, and gets your sign-off before a dolly touches it — never a quiet add-on at the truck. And a quote alone books nothing; your slot holds only once our office confirms it back.
Booking a date and stepping away from one
A date belongs to the first household that locks it in, not to whoever asked about it first. Plans change — if yours has to slide or drop off the calendar altogether, the earlier you tell us, the better the odds another Spokane family can grab the slot you’re freeing up. As for any deposit and the precise cancellation rules that ride with your specific job, you’ll find those written into your quote or your move agreement, where you can actually read them — we don’t tuck them into small print on this page.
What we rely on from you
- Give us the honest shape of the move — the room count, the rough weight, and which pieces are awkward to carry
- Flag the stairs, the gravel driveway grades, the parking limits, and anything fragile or oversized from the outset
- Handle whatever building or HOA approval falls beyond what we’re able to set up
- Keep the path lawful and clear for the crew at both the loading and the unloading ends
If something goes missing or gets damaged
How far our responsibility extends on loss or damage depends on the coverage level you pick and on the federal and state rules tied to it. The free option is released-value coverage, fixing the floor at 60 cents per pound on any item; pay a bit above that and full-value coverage takes over, and we carry $1 million in cargo coverage. File any claim with us in writing; on an interstate move the window to do so usually runs about nine months out from the day we deliver.
Read the site as a guide
Treat what’s written across this site as a broad picture of what we do — we keep it as accurate as we reasonably can, but make no guarantee it’s complete or free of error. Don’t use the site for anything unlawful, and don’t try to flood it, break it, or otherwise mess with the way it runs.
If these terms are revised
From time to time we may update these terms when the situation warrants it. Whatever wording is posted here right now is the version that applies to you — check back, since the page itself is always the current one.
