Senior moving and downsizing
There may be no harder move on a family than clearing the home where parents spent forty years, and almost none of that difficulty is about the boxes. So we ease off, working each piece at a pace nobody has to keep up with, handling that South Hill or Valley home as carefully as our own family’s.
One flat rate, no clock
There is no meter running and no stranger dictating the schedule. Sorting, boxing, the move itself, and any storage all add up to one written number, so no one ever feels pushed to hurry along.
Into a smaller home
More often than not the destination is smaller: a Spokane condo, a Valley senior community, an in-law suite near the grown kids, or a drive over to family in Seattle or Coeur d’Alene. Wherever it lands, a single crew carries the job beginning to end, one familiar face from the first box to the last.
Where we step in
- Sort, a room at a time One room at a time, we sort out what goes, what is donated, and what has simply run its course, with no clock pushing anyone.
- Hand-pack the keepsakes The china, the framed photos, and every memory-laden piece go into boxes by hand, with real care.
- Clear what stays behind Donation pickups are booked and anything not making the move is hauled away.
- Store the surplus Whatever the smaller home cannot take goes straight into our climate-controlled storage.
- Set up the new place We make up the beds and put the rooms in order before we drive off.
Coordinating with relatives
In many cases the grown kids live in different states and are managing the whole thing from afar. Sara keeps each of them up to date on the schedule and the written figure, while Megan handles the storage and any downtown-building COI the new address requires.
